Blinded By Indifference

Ten.

Ignorance is bliss and the entire vulture/culture of North America ruleth the airwaves. From the Norm Petersons of lardsville to the channel surfing dweebs of slackersville, institutionalised rides through the guilt free terrain of ‘’ain't my problem’’ is scoring, scoring, BIG TIME. Prizes galore for those that don’t know the capital of Russia, and a holiday for two should you be the lucky winner of this week's ‘Fuck The Immigrants’ competition.

Nine.

Although deaf, dumb and blind - much like the caring/swearing benefactors of Ronald Reagan's individualism - were the Who's Tommy around today, he'd be cyber-surfin' the politicism of the stock market like there was no tomorrow. Pete Townshend would be proud and so would Roger Daltrey. They'd probably be back on talking terms, unless of course, they were cajoled into writing conceptual money marches for such iconoclastic buddhas as Pat Buchanan and Jesse Helms: ‘’Hope I die before I get caught...’’

Eight.

For all we know, Timothy McVeigh may well have hollered the same line during the execution of his masterpiece.

That he didn't die before he was caught, was because he was destined not to. The nation demanded it. And this was because - as dreadful as the Oklahoma bombing was - it was televised. Televised by a menagerie of insensitive anchor-whores thrusting microphones and rancid questions in front of the bereaved. That children were buried beneath the rubble was beside the point. It made for finger lickin’ good, prime time morbidity.

Had Bill Clinton not promised immediate justice (whatever that means), we'd now be witnessing Newt Gingrich espousing (his contract with) the thousand year Reich.

Seven.

Which just goes to show that good can overcome evil - if so DESIRED. Simple fact of the matter is, it’s not; unless it includes one’s OWN.

So much for such bucolic bullshit as ‘brotherly love’ (never has so few words been spoken for the myopic benefit of so many).

Six.

Evil is Evil, Blood is Blood, Pain is Pain, yet one is more hip than the other?

Why?

The IRA have been bombing innocent victims for the best part of 25 years, yet in America, no-one (apart from Irish-Americans) will give it a second thought. Between 1992 and 1995, the JNA slaughtered well over 200,000 Bosnian Muslims, yet in America, no-one (apart from American-Muslims) will give it a second thought. The list is unfortunately endless, but you try telling that to your average Metallica head and you'll be laughed out of the confession box.

Five.

High on pizza and porno he or she may be, but there’s no denying the everlasting spell of the Monroe Doctrine. Naturally, this continuation is partially due to the aforementioned tactics of Jesse Helm’s Helmsmanship Brief.

During a Raleigh/North Carolina press conference (Nov 9, 1994), the Helm himself proclaimed: ‘’The foreign aid program has spent an estimated $2 trillion of the American taxpayers’ money, much of it going down foreign rat-holes, to countries that constantly oppose us in the UN. We must stop this stupid business of giving away the taxpayers' money willy-nilly.’’

Four.

What's willy-nilly about the above statement is its bloated, and excruciatingly obvious stab at gaining votes.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

Three.

If the populace don’t see that (and a great many don’t), then it's a sad and pitiful situation.

Two.

Roller-coaster ill-feeling/fuck the yanks/isolationist blues/is something to be...is it not?

As Bob Marley once said, ‘’money don't buy life.’’

One.

It don't buy respect either.

Zero.

SELF EXPLANATORY...SELF EXPLANATORY...SELF EXPLANATORY...SELF EXPLANATORY...SELF EXPLANATORY...(with the emphasis on self).
